  8. TERMS & CONDITIONS (updated 5-24-19)

    • BILLING: Billing takes place when order is placed. We will automatically bill your credit card on file and you will receive a receipt by email during our normal business hours (M-F 8am-5pm PST). The exception is if the office is closed due to a holiday or conference.
    • CANCELLATIONS: Production on your order begins right away so once submitted your order cannot be changed or refunded.
    • STUDIO SAMPLES: Canvas studio samples are offered for 20% off, January through August each year. They will be marked on the back of the canvas as a studio sample and are not for resale. Studio sample discounts cannot be combined with first time order discounts. Studio samples cannot be drop shipped.
    • CONDITION OF FRAMES IN THE PRIVATE COLLECTION: The frames range from mint condition to like-new condition. Small dings and normal wear will not be noted in the listing. There may be a small scuff as they are older frames. Any chips, dents significant scuffs or damage are not noted in the listing. (We will not list any frame that we ourselves would not feel confident using in our own portrait gallery).

    • FRAMING: If you're taking care of the framing on your own, it is recommended to wait until you have the canvas in your hands before buying the frame. This is so you can measure the portrait to fit the custom frame exactly. On smaller sizes, 16x20 and under, the canvas will be the exact size specified. Larger canvases have slightly more variance (up to 1/8") which is why you'll want to wait before having it framed.
    • PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS: Your finished order may appear in Guild Canvas marketing materials and/or on social media.
    • TURNAROUND TIME: Standard canvases (non-wraps) take approximately 20 business days to be completed and wraps take approximately 25 business days to be completed after ordering. Why "so long?" - Each canvas is completely unique and handmade. What we are creating is a piece of art that is like a piece of furniture. This level of quality and craftsmanship deserves the time and special attention. Thank you for your patience!
    • COMPLIMENTARY SHIPPING: Currently only available for studios in the contiguous United States. Additional shipping charges may apply if not within the contiguous United States.
    • FINISHED CANVAS:  Framed canvases and gallery wraps arrive ready to install with a wire hanger. Unframed standard canvases (non-wraps) do not come ready to hang.

    • HANDMADE CANVAS APPEARANCE: Our canvases are not machine made so each canvas is unique. You may notice some things from time to time and it does not mean the canvas is damaged. 1) Wrap Corners: We paint the corners of the wrap with acrylic paint, and is standard on every wrap. 2) Uneven Brushstrokes: More noticeable in the low key and high key areas of the portrait. This is the nature of the random pattern. 3) Backing: The backs of our canvases are not covered with paper which allows them to breathe. We add black felt on the back of our wraps. 4) Wrap folds: The folds of our wraps are thick like a fold in leather furniture. This is because we don't cut the corners. We iron the folds down, but they do not disappear completely.
    • RECOMMENDATIONS: If you choose to extend your own edges for gallery wraps, we recommend using the Photoshop content aware fill to extend and the bandaid tool to patch. 3" on each side extension. (For a 16x20" gallery wrap, extend to a 22x26" file).
